Very Merry Motorcoach!

Frequently Asked Questions (and Answers!)

What days and times are the holiday lights tours offered?

Tours will be offered every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evening between December 3 and December 31, with the exclusion of December 25. Tours will also be offered nightly from December 26 - December 31. Each tour is approximately 90 minutes long, departing twice per night, at 6:00 and 8:30pm, respectively. Where do we meet to board the motorcoach?

Tours will depart from the German Christmas Village at West Shore Park in Baltimore's Inner Harbor, located at 401 Light Street. Parking is available in many nearby garages.

What is included on the tour?

Passengers will experience the sights and sounds of the season at notable Baltimore landmarks and neighborhoods, including Harbor East, Little Italy, Mt. Vernon, Fells Point, and of course the famous 34th Street in Hampden. Along the way, your professional tour guide will regale you with tales of Baltimore history and little-known facts. With holiday music playing over the speakers, don't be surprised if you also find yourself joining in a joyous singalong with your fellow riders!

Can I bring food and drink on the bus?

Yes! We encourage you to bring your own beverages (however "spirited" you like!), as well as snacks if desired. Please note that when not eating or drinking, as per Baltimore city mandates, patrons will be required to wear masks. Bonus: all coaches are equipped with restrooms!

Will we be getting on and off the bus throughout the tour?

While most of the tour will place from the comfort of the heated motorcoach, passengers will have the chance to disembark for approximately 20 minutes and take a walk down 34th Street in Hampden. Those who prefer to remain on the bus during this time are welcome to do so.

Is the tour friendly for those with mobility issues?

As mentioned above, passengers will have the option to remain seated on the motorcoach throughout the duration of the tour. Unfortunately, our coaches are not equipped with wheelchair lifts, but wheelchair storage will be available for those who are able to board the coach. If this applies to someone in your party, please email us at chris@rentatour.com after purchasing your tickets so we may give your guide a heads up.

Can I bring my kids?

Absolutely! The more the merrier! There is nothing about our tour content or experience that would not be child-appropriate.

Is this for a good cause?

We're so glad you asked! A portion of every ticket sold will go directly to the Maryland Food Bank, an organization helping to meet the needs of food-insecure Marylanders while working to create pathways out of hunger.

What is your protocol regarding Covid-19 safety measures?

All patrons 12 and over must show proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test within 24 hours upon boarding the bus. Your vaccine card or a digital copy/photograph will be accepted. Patrons will also be required to wear masks when not eating or drinking on the bus, as per Baltimore city mandates. Refunds will not be provided for those who fail to comply. We appreciate your cooperation so we can ensure the safety of all of our guests during this very special holiday season.

Can I book the Very Merry Motorcoach for a private group tour?
